Explanatory notes
This is a simple exercise for the 2nd finger of the left hand. With this piece the guitar beginner will be practicing half and quarter notes (aka minims and crochets), G and A tones on the 3rd string (open string and 2nd fret), and, according to the teacher's plan, a particular right-hand fingering. Pizzcato is required for the 2nd guitar part (to be played by the teacher).
